Jim started his creative career working at a graphic design shop in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood. He was a paste up artist, worked a stat machine, and was exposed to many highly toxic chemicals. After graduating with a design degree from University of Illinois Jim had no real interest in advertising as he thought they were “a bunch of hacks”.
Things have changed.
Today Jim’s passion for creating famous, groundbreaking advertising is all-consuming. His mantra is “love it, hate it, but please don’t ignore it.” At Cavalry he leads a dynamic team of hungry creatives that will not be ignored.
Before Cavalry, Jim worked at DDB Chicago, TAXI NYC, Ogilvy NY, and The Leap Partnership. He created work for iconic brands such as Capital One, Miller Lite, American Express, Bud Light, Fox Sports, The Discovery Channel, Turner Classic Movies and many more.
His work has been recognized in many different awards shows including: Cannes Lions, the One Show, the National Addys, Communication Arts, Clios, Archive, the London International Awards, to name a few.
Jim lives with four children, a dog and a very understanding wife.
